Top 5 Industries with the Most Expected Job Growth
Georgia’s economy will add jobs over this two-year employment projection at an annual rate of 2.18 percent. With the state’s economy showing a twelfth consecutive year of average job growth in 2023, most major industries in the state are expanding and are projected to add workers. Nearly 100 industry subsectors were analyzed to identify the 20 expected to have the most job growth in Georgia from 2022-2024. The top five are as follows:
- Educational Services - elementary school teachers, except special education; teacher assistants; secondary school teachers, except special and career/technical education; middle school teachers, except special and career/technical education; teachers and instructors, all other, except substitute teachers
- Food Service & Drinking Places - Combined food preparation and serving workers, including fast food; waiters and waitresses; cooks, restaurant; supervisors of food preparation and serving workers; food preparation workers
- Professional, Scientific, & Technical Services - software developers, applications; accountants and auditors; lawyers; management analysts; computer systems analysts
- Warehousing & Storage - industrial truck and tractor operators; laborers and freight, stock, and material movers, hand; stockers and order fillers; shipping, receiving, and inventory clerks; heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers
- Ambulatory Health Care Services - medical assistants; medical secretaries; registered nurses; receptionists and information clerks; home health aides
